I’ve lived in Southern California for almost 4 years now, and up until August I had never set foot on Catalina Island. There’s really no excuse for that.
We decided to make a trip to the island to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We caught a very early boat ride from San Pedro and landed in Avalon before breakfast. We spent a little while walking around to get a feel for the place.
We grabbed some breakfast…
We spent a little time checking out the beach and the Avalon Bay.
And then we decided it was time to rent golf carts to check out the rest of the island.
The view of the Avalon harbor from a bit higher up was pretty nice.
After we returned the golf carts, I slowed down with the photography, so I’m not able to illustrate my story as effectively… But we did go to several different places for refreshments.
Then we played a round of mini golf at Golf Gardens, which was awesome. No photos, but it’s worth mentioning, as the course was really cool.
We enjoyed the view of the harbor some more as the sun went down…
And that’s where the photos end.
We all had an awesome time on Catalina Island, and I definitely plan on going back again sometime for a longer visit – perhaps a long weekend backpacking trip.
