I spent a month traveling around West Africa (Ghana and Togo) in November of 2007, and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. Most of my time was spent teaching at a small Orphanage in Ve Deme, but I was able to see and experience a lot of what West Africa has to offer in my short time there. Ghana, 10 Years To The Day

On this day 10 years ago, Cortney and I headed to JFK and boarded a flight to Accra, Ghana. We volunteered to teach at the Ve Deme Orphanage in Ghana's Volta Region, near Hohoe. While we spent most of our time at the orphanage teaching kids Science and English, we also made plenty of time for exploring the countryside, and had more than our share of adventures along the way.
